Finishing faster than you used to is called acquired premature ejaculation, and it is usually driven by stress, anxiety, lifestyle changes, or a weaker pelvic floor. Because there is often a clear cause, it tends to respond quickly to training.

Why you finish faster than you used to
When control slips later in life, there is almost always a reason behind it, which is good news: fix the driver and control usually comes back. This is different from lifelong PE, and it often responds faster. If it is recent, start with why you finish too fast.

The common causes
| Cause | What is happening |
|---|---|
| Stress and anxiety | Raise arousal and tension, speeding the reflex |
| Less activity, more sitting | Weakens the pelvic floor over time |
| Alcohol and poor sleep | Reduce control |
| Relationship changes | New nerves or pressure |
| Weaker erections | You may rush to finish before losing firmness |
Is it just my age?
Age plays a small role through blood flow and muscle tone, but it is rarely the whole story, and it is not a dead end. Training the pelvic floor rebuilds the tone that time and inactivity took, at any age.
How to get control back
Train the pelvic floor five minutes a day, cut the drivers (stress, alcohol, inactivity), and use the start-stop technique. A trainer makes the training easy. Most men feel more control in 3 to 6 weeks (Pastore et al.).

When to see a doctor
